FAITH

BORN IN TEXAS: I grew up in a spiritually rich but poor Texas family in a fatherless home with a strong mother, Viola B. Hicks, who is now in heaven. I call her my ‘iron maiden’ and ‘steel magnolia’ because her parenting skills were no nonsense. To this day, I am tremendously grateful and thank God my mother insisted I have morals, ethics, and values. She made sure I went to church, read my bible, and that I learned about Jesus Christ.

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior around the age of 12 and got baptized. Since then, I dedicated my life to serving Jesus Christ, becoming a ‘Proverbs 31 Woman,’ and to live the ‘abundant life’ Jesus spoke of John 10:10 (KJV).

FAMILY

DESIRE TO SERVE AGAIN NOT BE SERVED: I am now a retired US Army Lt. Col. with 26 years of honorable service with two combat-tours.

I am also, for the last 28 years, happily married to fellow Texan and Veteran, Jason O. Callaway. Together we have two wonderful adult sons, Eric-a software engineer, and Edward-a pastry chef who also reside in Austin, Texas.

RESPECT FOR AMERICA’S FOUNDING FATHERS AND FOUNDING DOCUMENTS: My belief in and utmost respect for God, His word, the Founding Fathers, and our founding documents, i.e., the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution make me incredibly proud to be an American and willing to do all I can to support and defend Texas, America, our freedom and our great way of life.

I do not want to see our great nation fall prey to the ills of radical leftists who purport Marxism, leftism, socialism, idealism and communism. SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP:

HIGHLY QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED:

God has blessed me to pursue happiness in this great country. I have traveled all over the world due to my military career which gives me great perspective concerning the concept of freedom. President Ronald Reagan, one of the greatest presidents America has ever had famously said “we must protect freedom for the next generation.” Freedom is protected, I believe by having the guts like I did and still do to fight for it by exercising strong morals, ethic and values spiritually and economically in all aspects of our lives.

I also believe God has generously equipped me to again serve by representing the Texas 35th congressional district. I am a US Army Veteran with two combat tours. I have three college degrees: master’s (human resource management), bachelors (political science), and an associate’s (Christian psychology and counseling). And, over the years I have supported the Republican party of Texas as a GOP precinct chair, secretary, delegate (county and state), and was appointed by Texas Governor Abbott for board director positions.

A DESIRE TO SERVE AGAIN; NOT BE SERVED:

I am blessed, equipped, and ready to lead ON DAY ONE as the next congressional representative for the Texas 35th district with my bible, the US constitution, the great people of TX 35, and my family.
